help with large movies

I would love to post some of my favorite shots from my large collection of movies. I need a basic freeware program that can capture the 30 to 1 min cumshots scences of a much larger file. Do you have any suggestions to help me out?

It kinda depends on the format in which the original moives are in, and the desired format you want to convert them too.....

I know it sounds like a bit of a minefield, but you may wanna take a look at this website, as there's are loads of guides, hitns, suggestions and references to freeware software !
