Thread: attachment quota

I know I am coming in on this a little later. However, I have some relevant information which involves session times and cookies. If you're using firefox, go to Tools > Options > Privacy and make sure your cookies are set to expire for "When they expire" and that you've enabled accepting cookies.

That aside, FA, I myself have noticed a session issue with the website. Now, I don't quite know if this is something you can change with vBulletin itself. Rather, you'd probably have to talk with your host or edit the session timeouts yourself. I usually resort to posting 1 or 2 videos at a time as the magnitude of selecting for example, 10 files and clicking Upload only to timeout before you can submit the thread, thus losing every attachment.

I guess one workaround is to not let users upload as many files as they want at once. Another could be retaining attachment data so that it's not lost between login/logout. Don't quite know if the last part is possible through any modifications to vBulletin, but it'd sure be nice as I've lost a lot of posts this way.

Seems I'm not the only one with this issue.

Tried to post a complete pic set in one thread (not much, just a little more than 110 jpg pics), and I did the first quarter (35 jpgs, JUST below the 2.38 marker, by 800 bytes), with no real issue. But I couldn't upload anything after that. I tried deleting a few of the pics from my user attachment profile, and some of those pics are gone, and cannot be reattached... I'm just curious as to how long I have to wait before I can upload my pics again, AND until I can hold a LOT more than 2.38 MB of jpgs?

    Thanks in advance

We have an upload limit on new members. This is a defense against spammers, especially autobot spammers. It is based both on how long you have been a free member and how many posts you make. In general after you have been a member for about five days and have made 4-5 posts the limits automatically end. After that you can post as much as any other free member. The easiest way to do this is explore the forum, say thanks or comment when you find something you like. Then once the limits end start posting what you want to share. Hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem. Are we only allowed to post a certain amount daily?
