"Good Cook", you say? "Nice Guy?". I'm glad to hear about these attributes. Yet I happen to be of the mind that most human beings should be nice. I also think that being a good cook is a basic survival skill and being friendly is grounds for social success. So let's cut the bullshit, shall we?
I'm going to take your thoughtful comments a step farther: Richard is a fine craftsman. "Craftsman" is a word I use for Artists who have a talent for Industry and Business as well. So there you have it: I've imposed a hefty complement upon him.
As the ages will attest, being an artist, industry leader or.....craftsman, bears some circumstantial side effects: you get criticized. Being of particularly good taste, Richard has set a high bar for himself. It is no mystery that I am a self-confessed critic, albeit cynical at times. So just like being a "nice guy" or "good cook", I fill a sort of social niche.
Chances are, my criticism will lead to more of his creativity. That's the beauty of this higher form of thinking that we call "art".
