Ball gag help

Righto, this is my first time posting a thread, so please be nice,

I have a question for the Pixels, or anyone else who might have an idea about the subject.


So here's the story,

I bought a ball gag for my girlfriend from the adult shop, it's one of those rubber foam sort of ones, the ones that sort of remind you of a rubbery stress ball, only problem is when I put it on her for the first time she almost threw up, (and I almost did too when I put it in my mouth to see what she was talking about)
the thing tastes like really bad and really strong petrochemicals, the smell and taste is like someone is pumping petrol into my mouth, and when it is squeezed between the teeth, the fumes are shocking.

My question is, how can we treat this thing, or wash it with something to get the bloody terrible smell and taste out of it so we can use it?

I do like the look of this one as opposed to those hollow plastic types so I'd like to keep it if possible

You should buy a different one. I am having the same problem finding good ball gags. There was a maker of these balls in the USA. It has since closed down and most of the ball gags you find in a porn store are made in China and God knows made from what.
There is a store in Ft Lauderdale called Fetish Factory. They carry good quality bondage equipment. I hope they work for you.
Throw away your previous purchase. I have done this myself.

The problem is that sex toys are not regulated by the FDA!! Or, rather, if they label themselves as "novelty" items then they don't have to follow any regulations. They can (and DO) contain horrendous, cancerous chemicals and there's absolutely nothing illegal with it!

I would recommend getting the silicone ball gag sold at babeland dot com

Silicone anything will be medical grade and safe for use.

I agree fully with the above two posters, Nand and Gloryholeprincess. Buy a new one. If you can, look for something that is "BPA free." Silicone would be much better than foam. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the exact ballgag that we use, but I wish you the best of luck finding a new one.

Thanks, Pixels. I couldn't remember the other one. BPA free is important also.

I'll see what I can find locally before I look into overseas shops

(I imagine customs here in Australia would be raising their eyebrows at a box with ball gag written on the declaration lol)

It's a shame that these sorts of things aren't more regulated, would've saved me the time and money it took to buy the dud.

We had the same experience with the different ball gag we tried.
I ended up buying a ring gag, it's stainless steel, so no smell or chemical issue...
Oh! I actually think that it's way more fun too...

Hey Jedi, probably you bought some plastic gag that contains phtalates and stuff. We once made the same mistake. From that time we go for silicone-ballgags only - such as this one http :// tinyurl . com /6vtq8o6 .

By the way, this shop is excellent, you can also register and join the community there (lot of useful stuff).
To the toy materials - we buy only silicone, metal and glass toys from that time and did not have a problem at all... so this might help you.
