Let me just chip in here, even if its a bit too late, and suggest candy. Gummy Bears have vivid colours and therefore make for nice contrast, much like the strawberries. Chocolate is a classic. I even have a personal pic of that as my profile picture. If all else fails, look for advice in Natural Harvest och Semenology. Two books that come in handy in situations like the original posters.
