(1) I've been to a lot of forums for the past 15 years. Not allowing people to upload high quality images, share links, or overcome Draconian image-size limitations is, well, lame. If you're having bandwidth issues, perhaps letting users share external image links, such as Imagebam, would make logical sense. If you're going to force people to use YOUR server to host images, you can't simultaneously complain because there are bandwidth issues. Let people use free image hosts, assuming they abide by a specific list of them at your choosing. There are plenty of decent ones out there. No? But alas, that isn't allowed.
(2) I don't pay money to participate in online forums and chat with people. As far as your advertisement at the end, it seems highly dubious when forum owners start charging people to access content on their forum.
(3) My disappointment with not being able to share images has nothing to do with me "not understanding" anything. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I understand that not allowing people to share QUALITY images on a forum where people talk about images and videos is a bit inane.
(4) Perhaps you missed the parts in my few posts where I SHARED VALUABLE INFORMATION and provided GREAT screenshots, to answer the question of the person that started this thread? Alas, in your mind I did "little more than complain." Count the # of words I used to complain, and count the number of words I used to help people out with suggestions.
Being criticized right from the get-go because I have a beef with the forum mechanics is discouraging. I file a LEGITIMATE complaint about a reality of the forum, and you proceed to volley personal attacks at me (about supposedly being ignorant, and doing little more than complaining.) Great community you're exemplifying here.
Also, as a forum moderator, don't you know better than to stir up personal drama within a thread? I think a PM would have worked much better, and been much wiser. Seeing as how you personally attacked my reputation in public, I feel obliged to defend it in public.
Now back to the topic of gokkun...
