Yeah I'm trying to take my own DVDs and turn them into mpegs or something.

thanks a lot for your kind help!
I have not tried to capture my own video-files from DVDs yet.
With the help offered on that website I hope that I will manage to "create" some video-files or captures / edits myself.

If you are going to make clips from a DVD, there are plenty of tools out there to do it with. Most are freeware, and the site Vlad suggested has them all.

It depends on what you want to do with the clips. Either making MPG or high quality AVI clips, there are plenty of tutorials to help you out.
