Default To the death of Max Hardcore

I came aware yesterday that Max Hardcore passed away. He already died in March due to complications of a cancer surgery.

No need to repeat, that he was a "controversial" Porn Producer. So were my feelings about him. Controversial.

I became aware of him over several exellent facial pics in the late 90s. I was fascinated over that grade of perfection. But when i watched the first movie porns, i was deeply shocked. How was that possible, that he treats girls like that and gets away with it? (in fact he did not and had to spend 4 years in prison)

But then i got used to it. Especially the fact that many girls did several movies with him could convince me, that his movies are just show. Even Queeny Love, who recieved VERY special "treatment" from him once said, that he is her favorite porn producer. And then there is Catalina, Sage, China Love and all the others. Even though, the puking and slapping never caught on me.

After his prison time, he declined rapidly. The rubber dick porns are just weird and not watchworthy. But his heritage is way big enough.

Well, i have very mixed feelings about him. Fact is, that he is responsible for a big, maybe the biggest part of my happy hours. Some of his movies are my all-time favorites since 20 years.
on the other hand - nothing on earth could bring me to treat a women like he did.

I see him today as the gatekeeper of my darkest fantasies. Thats his role for me. Maybe i donīt like him as person but i do respect what he did.

Rest in peace, dirty old bastard.

Thank you very much for your post and words. I could not have put it any better. I second every word.

What I could not stand at all and really dispised was when the girl was dressed to look like an underaged child.

    May he rest in peace.

"My sweetheart since junior high left me and married my best friend since junior high. We're all still friends. They're one of those happy couples that likes to take pictures of themselves and hang 'em up all over their goddamn house. Sometimes I go over there just to look at my ex-fiancee doing all the things I used to do with her with my best friend. It's nice having friends."

There really is no excuse for him....a gay guy fucking women (did you notice most of the time his dick was in their mouths? He had to teach himself to get off with a pussy), hater/abuser of women...one very sick fuck. No way I'm sorry he's gone.
    Here's mud in yer eye!

Max taught me that lots of women will do ANYTHING for either money or fame.

I don't think that's true. Most people will do things for money if they are sufficiently desperate. It only depends on how close the wolf is to the door. So don't think ill of the women.
I too shed few tears for "Mr Hardcore" and I loathed his videos and his persona. I don't care whether he was "gay" or "straight" (why does that matter?). He made quite a few women miserable as evidenced by various lawsuits and TV documentaries.

This evening I happened to hear He's a Rebel by the Crystals. This was followed by Da Doo Ron Ron, also by the Crystals. Then came And Then He Kissed Me, again by The Crystals. All these songs were written by Phil Spector, who is currently in prison and hopefully will stay there.

Whether you like the songs or not, I don't care, but to me they are absolute classic, bona fide pop songs and a worthy addition to our pop history. Should I stop listening to these songs because of the awful things Spector did? Should they be erased from history because the writer and producer was an abusive egomaniac?

Should we separate the art from the artist so we can enjoy the simple pleasure of it, or does this enable the artist to continue their unacceptable behaviour?

I think there is a difference, @ronsurf. Phil Spector wrote songs that were sung by people he mistreated. But the songs sit quite separately from how he behaved. They are not about his maltreatment. Mr Hardcore actually filmed some of his abuse. And that's a very different matter.

    Was it art…*hmmm.

I wasn't intending to compare the two, it was more a general question about whether you should separate the artist (or should that be creator, these days?) from the art.

While I accept your point, it's worth remembering that those records were also recordings of his abuse. Some of those girls were utterly exhausted and too tired to sing, which while it gave them the sound they have, it wouldn't happen today.

I bet there aren't many posts comparing Phil Spector and Max Hardcore!

This is off-topic, but I am really happy and thankful to see how we all can discuss - and even argue - here on the forum in a polite and respectful way.

    Thank you all. Stay safe.
