I will try and tweak my settings for add ons and see if that helps. If anybody can figure out what I'm doing wrong in the meantime let me know
    Mmm...

Perhaps I am using a different thumbnail expander to you (although if it worked for quincypdog and dogbreath it should work for you.)

The thumbnail expander I have is version 1.0 of this add-on:

    https://addons (DOT)mozilla (DOT) org/en-US/firefox/addon/thumbnail-expander/

I have Firefox 9.0.1 and the comp add on is 1.0.2, so maybe if it is a different thumbnail add-on it might work for you too...

Updated Firefox to 13.0 and have thumbnail expander and compatibility reporter installed. Thumbnail expander stopped working again Anyone have a fix yet?

If you open a new tab and put "about:config" (without the quotes) in the address bar and press enter.

Right click anywhere on the page and in the menu that comes up select 'new', then 'boolean'.

In the box that pops up, paste this:

    extensions.checkCompatibility.13.0

    And set it to false.

Worked for me, give it a go.

    Alternative: Install the addon "checkCompatibility".

With this addon you can activate/deactivate individual addons...

Excellent, that sounds like a very handy way of doing it. Thanks for the heads up elgrego.
