I often hear my fellow pervs waxing nostalgic about porn's golden age, and I'm wondering how other people's opinions compare to mine. I became old enough to watch porn at the tail end of that "Golden Age", and while it was OK at the time because it's all we had, I think porn today is better than ever. I agree with your assessment & articulate opinion on The "Golden Age of Porn", or "porno chic", which refers to a 15-year period (1969–1984) in commercial American pornography, in which sexually explicit films experienced positive attention from mainstream cinemas, movie critics, and the general public.
Those who produced, directed, acted, etc. during that period of time were the pioneers of the main stream porn industry that essentially paved the way for what porn has evolved into to this day.

As for those who "wax on" about certain preferences:
Some people get satisfied /stuck on / certain types of things in there lives that makes them happy like preferences of music, food, clothing styles, humor, entertainment, politics etc. and never have the desire to explore new ideas and remain content in doing so. Well,...good for them. Doesn't make any difference to me if they chose to remain constant & not evolve. I just accept there opinion & leave them to there own devices.

Imagine what the pioneers of porn could have, would have done if they had the tools we have today? High speed internet, 4K+ video, world wide interest & distribution with the tap of a keystroke?

This is an interesting subject.

I would say it depends on the way you look at it. I am quite a nostalgic guy, thinking back of the golden 1980s and 1990s when I was a teenager and a young man. I still marvel at the cars we had back then or the video games we played for days, saying that I miss the pureness, feeling and the scene. I remember meeting friends in person, no social media and smartphones.
