RAR files

I'm sure this is on the site somewhere but I falied to find it. What is the trick for playing .rar files? I have just joined rapidshare thanks to the various excellent suggestions on this site, notably from the inestimable lajla, and have downloaded a file but can't make it play. Tried to "Extract" and got as far as the Dos looking screen with unRAR.exe. Is there a magic word or something? And also, where there are multiple files, do they have to be joined back together like HJsplit or do they play indivudally. Any assistance gratefully received.

I'm no expert, but try using Real Player instead of Media Viewer.

Yeah a .RAR file is just like a .ZIP file, its a compressed file format.

You can use a few different tools to decompress the contents of a .RAR file. One that is free is 7-zip, you should find it easily if you give it a google, see if that helps.
