What file to download codec pack to ?

I cant play 50 % of whats on this site.Seeing I need to download a codec pack.... I dont know where to download it to.I have vista and windows media player.Any help would be great ! Thanks

r u sure its the codec, or is it the hjsplit files with the .001 .002 ect.
anyhow we need more info to help
