For how long can I delete posted pics?

I've noticed that once you sent a post with an attached picture, you have the possibility to delete the attachments by editing the post.
But that possibility seems to disappear after a while.

For how long can I delete a picture I've recently posted to a thread?

Good question, I never seen that behaviour. I will ask around.
Do you have an example of such a post ?
