I'm probably missing something very obvious but I just can't see the way.
I can go to profile but it don't allow any changes.

If you are logged in, take a look at the left hand corner in the blue bar which says "User CP" (next to FAQ) click this, then click "Edit Avatar" and upload one.
Is it not allowing uploading of a new one? Is your avatar within the size limits?

Hi I just tried to up load my avatar and it came back saying it's an invalid file. I scaled the image down to 180 x 180 pixels as required. I'm using a mac and the image is in photo shop.
any sugestions???

im having the same problems also, my picture comes up when i go back to the user control panel but i dont know if it has worked
Can I bump this thread? I am on mac, have generated an avatar pic that conforms to the rules. I can see it on the UserCp page but it doesn't appear beside my posts. Any ideas anyone?
I can see you have a profile pic (on the left site) but not an Avatar (whcih should show up on the right. In the User Cp --> Settings & Options --> change avatar.Quote:

I've a similar problem, piper has sent me a delightful avatar, but my ancient mac is saying it's an invalid file (the file name ends in "php") any sugestions?
