I just did some experimenting and the computer is not detecting a usb device when I plug it in,also it's powered through the usb cable not external sooo,I think it's toasted.I can't open or format it as the computer doesn't even see it.I also just checked and it is under warranty so I need to destroy the data on the drive without any external damage to it.:D
well i think it is fucked,happened to a drive i had a while ago,i think you should be ok just taking this back if its still under warranty.
dont think they take time to try and repair drives like this at all,probably end up throwing it into the bin.
Yea ,I picked up a new 500 Gig external today and wiped the old one with a huge magnet,just for fun.Now that I know better then to throw the drive around,lets hope for the best,thanks.:D
Thanks for the help here too guys....finally gave up and said f it, bought a new one and starting over. :(
