In regards to pornstars being escorts this happens a lot. There is less exposure and if a girl has a following she'll get some stalkers to come in and pay top premium for 30 minutes at a brothel or whatever else.
I know of some instances of trying to book this one girl that was popular in the late 90's or early 2000's and got her husband to talk to.
