This is the second posting about security issues here. It would be real nice if those who allegedly know about this stuff reveal the specifics to the rest of us. I suppose it's so much more intriguing though to leave cryptic, scary posts.Quote:

What we have to do is figure out some way to build FacialForum back up. I think it's a matter of building on what makes this such a great place. A place for conversation and sharing and curating content.The vbulletin forum should be the community core, where the threads and posts can continue. This functionality isn't easily replicated on the social platforms that tend to be all about act and react with little room for long lived conversation.
The core should support conversation and sharing, including links (with some hotlink protection) to the other platforms such as tumblr. I for one would appreciate a new section for sharing.
The platinum section could be shifted to a direct download location, just a secure web site sharing login credentials with the forum. This would remove the limitation of chunking downloads and keep a pay stream open. The archive probably just needs folding in as a value added thing.
About Malware. The only source of Malware would be in the advertising content, potentially running malware code.
Malware Piper is just a general term for malicious software that when embedded in a Web site subverts your computer in some way, using your browser or some plug-in to do it. I run MalwareBytes which has a great reputation for detecting malware and it's cool with this site. It blocks a lot of Tumblr page pop ups however. So there you go!

On the security issue, malware as a rule gets passed around by permission, so you actually need to accept it, so although you are being told its a vid, pic or mp3 it has something embedded in it, the malware.
i have scanned all our files and can find nothing.
it would, as already stated, be more helpful if we had further info about what it was, instead of the simple claim that we have malware here.
And if you have any concerns, the first place to look is your own pc and that is always the target of a malicious script.

I try to support the small local businesses in my community when ever I can. Paying a little extra is worth it because there is accountability when things go wrong. Servers costs money to maintain and websites always need upgrades/fixes.
This site can still continue to thrive without compromising its integrity by facilitating users to contribute their content. Since there is a plethora of pornographic websites available, selections of the appropriate content worth sharing here would be a good use of one's time. I encourage everyone to contribute to the threads when ever they can so we can all appreciate your work as well as respect you as a human being.

I read this thread and I can understand the points that are brought up here.
But I would like to point out that this forum is not just a pay site offering porn material. It is a forum that is run by enthusiasts, and what made me stay for ten years is the fact that members and especially the people running and maintaining this forum are always friendly and helpful, with a lot of knowledge.
Anyone who has tried to run and maintain a forum site will know how much work this means, and that there are costs to pay.
Sadly I am not around here that often lately, and even worse I have become a lurker. But that is not because I don't like it here. Life and work just take its toll and I can't find to contribute much.
And there is one more thing I realize: Being in the 40s now, I start to think that everything was better in the past, sounding like my dad or senior men when I was a young hot shot 25 years ago. Maybe that is true, maybe not. One thing is sure: things will always develop and change, but it is our call what we want to do. Regarding FF, we can stay and enjoy the forum, or we can move on and focus on something new.
I guess I will propably be around here the next ten years.
