I'd like to say something about some of the reactions to this thread (which by and large I'm thoroughly enjoying by the way) and it's about perception and understanding.
I've relatively recently been made aware of my own submissive side. I say relatively because I'm 65 in a few days and it hasn't been "out" for long.
My lover is a very experienced practitioner when it comes to "unusual" sex and when we did identify this characteristic, the first thing he explained to me was the difference between S & M and D/S.
Once we'd established that our little diversions were of a D/S nature, he gave me the most eloquent summary of what that means and I'd like to share it with the community here because I think it's illuminating;
"It isn't about making a woman do something she doesn't want to do. It's about discovering what she wants to be made to do!"
When he said that, I knew he was right and that's the kind of understanding it takes.

I'd love to explore my dark side... I only need to find someone into all of this. I've met some girls that would try it, but ended up not liking it.
