There used to be a version of Windows Media Player for the Mac.
Check out www.microsoft.com/mac
Dunno about Torrent client though - but loads of Mac users are torrent addicts, so I dare say Google might be able to point you in the right direction.
And well done for stepping away from the Dark Side! :D

Microsoft no long support the Windows Media Player for Mac. If you want to view WMV files, I recommend that you use Flip4Mac which is a free Quicktime Plugin. You will occasionally come across old AVI files that don't play on Mac. You get a white screen. There is little one can do about that as there is a codec that was never available for the mac. But I haven't missed anything posted around here recently - it all runs just fine.
If you want to join HJSplit files, use MacHacha.
I don't know anything about torrents/P2P so if anyone can teach us, post something.
Welcome to the bright side bro!

I've used Split and Concat for joining.
http://www.xs4all.nl/~loekjehe/Split&Concat
Unfortunately Split and Concat will not show up when right clicking a file (as MacHacha does) but put it's icon in the dock and drop the .001 file there. It will merge the files and move the 001, 002 etc files to the trash automatically (activate in options).

Also install Flip4Mac as mentioned above and use VLC for occasional files encoded in strange formats
Microsoft dropped WMW Player for Mac but instead support using Flip4Mac. They call it WM Components on their site but it's the same thing.
WM Components (Flip4Mac)
