Photo Organization Software?

Hi guys & gals, Long time listener, first time caller (4th post actually).

I know that many of you have very large collections of erotic imagery, as do I. I was wondering how you guys organize your pics.

For indexing, I use CyPics from CyWarp, which is great but I don't think it has been updated in a couple of years and has some compatibility issues under Win8. (Disclaimer: I don't work for CyWarp, I'm just a customer)

CyPics allows me to index pics in really flexible ways. One is "attributes", like how many girls or guys appear in the shot, quality rating, category (like "Nudes" or "Cumshots"). A particular attribute cam only one value per image (can't have "# of Girls" = both 2 and 1).

The other indexing tool is keywords, like "Hair Color: Blonde", "Oriental" or "Position: Doggie". You can have as many keywords as you want, so a girl-girl pic can be flagged as both "Hair Color: Blonde" and "Hair Color: Brunette".

You can define as many attributes and keywords as you want, and customize them however suits your needs. With a large collection of pix, it takes a while to get everything properly cataloged, but even that can be fun since, after all you are looking at dirty pictures. ;]

The best part of CyPics is that you can define picture sets based on the attributes and keywords you've set up, like "Busty Brunettes doing Anal" or "Outdoor MMF Small-titted Blondes". The only limit is your imagination. You can view your picture sets as either slideshows or thumbnail galleries.

I also use Duplicate Cleaner Free 3.0 and VisiPics to weed out duplicates. After I run new images through those, I use Sifter to move images to appropriate subdirectories before adding them to CyPics.

How about you guys/gals? How do you keep your collections straight? Any other CyPics users out there?

Well shoot, I was hoping to get some chatter going about how we keep our pic collections organized, even if it was just about creating subfolders or whatever.

Here's the way I categorize my pix (as an attribute called "Category" and as subdirectories) :

- Anal
- Blowjob
- Bondage
- Cumshot
- Fucking
- GirlGirl
- Group
- Handjob
- Illustration
- Masturbate
- Nude
- TitFucking

Other attributes I use are:

- # Girls
- # Guys

My Keyword list is 250+ so I won't post that list unless there's interest.

Interesting topic. I have been thinking about a better way to catalog different things but I go back to my old method out of laziness.

I pretty much dump things into folders that I then date and put in the root directory. If I like it, I put the word good in front of the name so I can sort later and see what I liked. If I really like it, I give it its own folder in the root folder. After that, I can't remember most of the stuff I download so for me it's not worth the effort to organize it better. It's a bad system, I know, but it would be too time consuming to go back and organize better.

I can't organize and download at the same time :(

I know what you mean... I had no connection for a few days lately and going through stuff and ACTUALLY watching it I really couldn't believe what I already had :D

Well, there's no software that really helps organizing stuff the way you want and that's OK.

Take some time offline and go through your collection, whatever sorting system you have chosen, get rid of stuff you'll never watch again, it will make you feel good.

BTW "ThumbsPlus" is a fantastic tool to bulk rename and deal with large amounts of pics.

Here's a screenshot of CyPics in use. The background is a selection of thumbnails (I think I did a "quick find" and selected "Category = Nudes" and "Quality Rating >= 9"). The window in the middle is where you manage the details of a particular image.

While updating a particular single image is useful, there's another way that I like better. If you're looking for blondes (keyword "Hair Color: Blonde"), you would search for that keyword. But first you need to get the images containing blondes marked as such. First, you select all images that do NOT have that keyword and run a slideshow. As you move through the show, whenever a blonde appears, just use your free hand (grin) to hit the 'F' key, which flags that image. After you're done, select all the flagged images and add the "Hair Color: Blonde" keyword to them (you can update them all at once). Clear all the flags (a single click does that) and you're ready to move on to redheads or brunettes or whatever.

In other words, adding detailed information about your images can be fun.

I know, with the advent of high speed connections and mega storage drives, there is only so much you can watch and save. Only the favorites, like Independent George says.

Plus, whenever I look through my folders I can never make it too long without yanking it and then taking a nap. At which point I have no interest in organizing anything. :rolleyes:

I've tried a few different schemes (folders, picasa, windows meta tags, bridge) and none seem to really work that well.

Where did you download it from? I would only get it from Cywarp . com. I just pulled a fresh copy of the exe from there and my AV said it was clean. Maybe you're getting a false positive from your AV software?

BTW, I'm an professional computer consultant with 35 years of experience. To say I am very experienced with computer security is an understatement, which is why I'm asking about this. If you download programs from a suspect source, you are probably not getting what you expected. The current version of CyPics (cypicsvs dot exe, 18.5 MB, version 4.1.13, available from CyWarp dot com) does not contain any malware.

Sorry for any problems you had with your computer. Sucks when these bugs get in.

I'm really interested in learning what went wrong with your experience trying CyPics. As I said previously, the real CyPics download is clean of any malware. It would be a shame if the community missed out on using a valuable tool because of a misunderstanding as to what threat it supposedly contains.

Did you download it from the CyWarp dot com site? If not, do you remember where you got it from?
