That is the same "problem" with facebook - some leave a comment, some share it, but the most just watch/read and do nothing.

That makes also only 0,00275%

And for my part I think it is better to have few real replies instad of having a lot of phrases, like

When I'm the first, second or third one to comment a new photo I do it as well, otherwise I prefer to push the reputation button.

But of course I understand, that a personalized reply would be the best way to thank you for your work.

When I look up older threads in the forum and see a 10 page thread spanning several years only to find the op only has made only made a handful of posts in it with the vast majority of replies being very short but approving responses I kinda feel like when new content is posted I don't want to bloat threads with my own unimaginative "nice pics" post. I feel like others may feel the same way.
However, you are 100% correct that posters like you who post pics deserve praise and acknowledgment in the form of posting comments in response to their posts and as encouragement for further submissions. I will try to make a concerted effort to post more responses to submissions I enjoy, hopefully others will as well.

I've been debating writing this...but I think it needs to be said. The comments, to a large degree, are the engine that drives this effort. I just looked through our threads and compared the number of views to the number of comments. On one thread, there were over 82,000 views but only 173 comments. That's 2/10 of one percent. Is it that only .2% of the people who look at our pictures actually like them, or is it maybe that people have become somewhat lazy and don't want to expend the effort that fifteen seconds of typing would entail? If you like the content you see, take a few seconds and let the poster know. You're the one who will ultimately benefit.
