I've been hanging out here since the beginning, and I can tell you that this rule exists for a good reason. As far as I know, the pics that are "owned" by someone are pics they took themselves. They are nice enough to share them here with the understanding that they won't get spread all over the net. The part of this I don't think you understand is that many many many paysites are nothing more than a collection of pics they have downloaded from the net, including from users of FF. Since the users who post pics are asking that they not be reposted, the paysites that use them are stealing them.


The net is a very free, unregulated space. I would like it to stay that way. But part of what will make that possible is if we regulate ourselves. Part of regulating ourselves is being respectful of someone's request not to repost their original material.
