First I will say that I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. The reason being how can you miss someone you don't even know is there in the first place??

To me the lurker issue is more about changing peoples minds as opposed to punishing people who don't contribute. If we set up a rule like that it would only force people who don't want to contribute (even with comments) to make insincere replies just to stay here.

I have had some small results over the years by constantly harping about this issue. It makes me feel good when someone I have been after to contribute something finally starts replying to other people's posts. I also think that those people who finally did find out that it's much more fun to be involved and make friends here.

As far as people who haven't even been on the forum for more than a year, I could see deleting their accounts if it would benefit the forum somehow, if it wouldn't then it doesn't really matter either way.

One other thing, I was a lurker when I first got here. I was new to the forum idea in general and really didn't have much to say. Then I saw some posts, wanted to see more and started asking questions...that is how it starts. Now years later I couldn't imagine being here and not contributing at the very least replies to the people who take time to post things people enjoy.

It's one thing to be shy, but seriously this is as anonymous as it gets. Nobody knows you or can see you. Say something, post something, get involved and you will have a better forum experience guaranteed.

We have some OUTSTANDING posters here who are on top of things, Shape, Azriel, Wobleybob, Gumsel, Elgrego, SimonKemp... just to name a few. I don't know how they do it, but I'm sure glad they do!
    Same here......exact same.

Everyone's made some very good points, I especially agree with what the Shape said and ZeroRain as well.

I'm definitely guilty of not commenting at all on some AMAZING posts, pics, vids etc. often because my hands were busy doing other things, and the act of posting is not always conducive to the act of squeezing one out.

Bottom line for me: you don't ALWAYS have to contribute, as I know many of you don't think you have anything to contribute. But there are threads in the general chat where I would encourage all of our lurkers to share a story. Even if you're inexperienced you can certainly chime in about how you realized you like facials, what they mean to you, ask a question, whatever.

and of course rain praise down upon the frequent contributors whose efforts ensure that there's simply no need to go anywhere else for a good wank.

And as for weather to punish lurkers: I say let 'em lurk. It really IS their loss.

The sad fact is that will will never be able to stop some members flaunting certain rules in here, it is all down to how an individual views this place.

The vast majority of our members in here understand just exactly what we are trying to achieve when we set this place up over 5 years ago and will respect and uphold the basic principals that the forum stands for and also respect their fellow members wishes on reposting personal pix.

Sadly there are others who do not value this place as a community but just view it as a convenient outlet to smash n grab material and then use it as they wish.

Thankfully the good outweighs the bad many times over but a distinction has to be made here, not all lurkers will repost members material elsewhere but one thing is certain any that have been caught doing so will be banned.
I'm pretty certain that you guys have thought of everything

One idea I have is to disable right clicking for non-platinum members. The way I figure it, is that most of the people that come here solely for stealing photos to re-post are probably not paying for a membership. This would, I would think, discourage and/or eliminate at least SOME of the re-postings. Or maybe give our sharing members an option to disable right clicking on photos they don't want shared. Not to say that every leacher/spreader is a free member. Yes, I do realize that there are ways around not being able to right-click/save as.

    Lightbulb

That would probably work for a forum that was super strict and didn't give people the benefit of the doubt, but not for this forum. It is a good idea, just one I don't think would fit us here. Every free member is a potential posting member, plat member, and a contributing member in general. It would take away the prospect of someone sharing pics/vids of their own girlfriends or wives.

    1) I do not share personal pics because I am a single man . That does not prevent me from finding photos to be shared, Internet abounds in professionals' pics which allow to show our love for a practice and, by bounce, encourage those who can post this type of personal photo to do (Cf salopesud in the tread Double barret BJ for example)

    2) Write " I like very much this pic" and bind a photo take no more than one minute but it will please those who appear on.

    3) On the Internet you are anonymous as long as nobody try to know you, if anyone give an effort your IP will denounce you, you wrote or not...

    Then is better to participate

Difficult issue, I was a lurker to start with as this was the first forum I joined and frankly is the only one I feel the need to belong to. Once I got the hang of it with plenty of help from other posters (you know who you are) I haven't looked back. It there had been rules as suggested I doubt if I'd have signed up as frankly at the beginning I didn't have a clue as to the ethos of the forum. The forum is driven by the posters and is it really affected by the lurkers, I think not. There are times when no comments can be frustrating but that means when a comment is made it makes up for the silence out there. Finally thank you bayforrest for mentioning me in such illustrious company not sure I deserve it but my ego has never been so happy!

I like Wobblybob have to admitt I lurked around here for a while before posting any comments.( but I sure as hell did obey all the rules and have never reposted any thing from here which is one of the forums problems)
First I posted comments used the help and support thread and learnt how to use HJ split, I then posted a couple of vids, eventualy started a thead of my own.
I have used several video editing programs that I would never have thought about trying before joining this forum.
When I saw somthing that was wrong I bought it to staffs attention
The point is I have got so much more out of contributing.
I dont think there is any way you can force people to contribute as that will turn peole away, just try and educate them to the benifits of being part of the forum.

You raise an interesting point : watchers gain to encourage those who post.

I think that the forum shall gain at encourage comments, a message saying to new subscribers that compliments (even short) are welcome and that pleasure of being desired is one of engines of the forum could incite people to answer from their arrival
