Here's the thing about the scene. The recipient, Issa, is immediately disgusted and freaks out. Despite it being and accident and the guy feeling bad, she storms out of his place. The general "feel" is a mix between it being disgusting/degrading and Issa perhaps not being as sexually open as she thought (there's a lot of backstory that could influence her reaction that I won't get into).
The vast majority of the time I see facials mentioned/implied in mainstream media, it is in a negative light. They are portrayed as unquestionably gross and degrading, a warped vision of sex created by porn. I have no problem with it being portrayed as gross, since a lot of people genuinely feel that way, but what bothers me is a) the unquestioned view that it is degrading (and therefore something you shouldn't do) and b) the fact that there's hardly ever any instance of a (female) character proclaiming their enjoyment of facials. Some think it's degrading, some don't, and some (women) think it's degrading and enjoy it for that; there's no "intrinsic" meaning of a facial. How people interpret it is a function of their own experiences, their innate attractions, and popular portrayals. The constant negative portrayal of it biases people and I think impairs the understanding that for many people--men and women--facials are a positive, enjoyable aspect of sex.
