This site was amazing, till everything posted here was shared across the entire internet. Now it’s just a shadow of what it used to be. Sad really. There maybe should have been measures taken to keep lurkers from doing that. Oh well. A great opportunity missed.

This site is dying because it is crazy expensive. Tumblr has all the same stuff... pretty much. I simply don't need super-HD 20+ minute videos to get off, and I simply don't give a shit whether its a video of a member or not. Nor does anyone else. I think we have found the crest of the internet... who needs better resolution? Higher speeds? What do you need your phone to do that it already doesn't do? Why does anyone want to pay more?

Ah well, it was good when it lasted. I'd rejoin if the prices dropped, but the prices here are crazy.

I'd like my phone to do more, I'd like it to project holograms. I'm sure it will in another 20 years, if it's still around as a handheld device - and I'm pretty sure it won't be. I'd also like it to be faster when it's off Wi-Fi. And I'm sure we'd all like a better signal. As for videos, some people on here do want longer content and have said as much to me. I prefer 1080p HD to some grainy S-VHS lookalike. VR is taking off. As for price, well it's still less than most pay sites and some, indeed many, people still use pay sites. The real problem - well I wouldn't say it's a problem, it's a combination of trends. I have threads on platinum that are 5 years old. I figure that the number of views has dropped across that 5 years by more than half. More people are using the tubes and social media for their content, but this is a poorly moderated space confined to small clips. it's still great, but it's time consuming to navigate and limiting. We seem to have lost our couples, not helped at all by having their content spread about - some people do care about that. The number of people willing to contribute and feedback has also shrunk and so to me as a regular poster it feels a lot like peeing in the wind. The underlying forum software is antiquated, but options to replace it are limited. However they are out there.
The key strength here is the well moderated space, special interest nature of FF with some committed people and content that is well curated. The weaknesses are an ageing forum technology, a drop in participation and loss of amateur contributors.
I think it can be revitalised, but on the current trajectory I doubt we'll be around in our current form in another five.

I have contributed lots of pics over the years. I just don't collect videos, and in a way, I actually prefer pics (I'm weird). Agreed, the build of this site is ancient, and it's a pain to use. I will miss it when it is gone though.

The rest of the net moved on, and FF hasn't. Seriously... split video files for 3-5 minute clips? Who's gonna pay $80 for that? Would I prefer HD, awesome long videos? Sure... but again, this is jerk-off material. It's not National Geographic or Martin Scorsese. Ah well... times change.
