This actually brings up a very good point for anyone getting into BDSM/rope play: ALWAYS have a quick way out. If you're using chains or locks, have a bolt cutter. If you're using rope, have EMT scissors like these:



These are invaluable, since they can cut rope or leather restraints quickly and safely. Remember, if it's really an emergency the sub may be panicked and struggling... not a good time to use something with an exposed blade.
