I will save my personal opinion on this matter for the time being, I will admit to curiosity regarding why you brought it up though....

Just out of curiosity i've clicked on a bunch of random users that are online now to see where they are from or browsing now. I was surprised that some have joined 2006 with zero posts or reply's. some 2007 or 2008. Long time to just be lurking... Unless you they just like facials after the wife goes to bed.

A lot of us, including myself currently, love facials and our current women do not. I was an avid poster on the day with all of my own material but have since parted ways with my "model" A lot of what I do it browse now until the day returns for me to make some new smokin hot pics. haha
Zero
No, although you might be on to something. The leachers/reposters chase away a lot of very good cum lovers who have their pics suddenly spread all over the place. You would think that there would be some way to weed em' out.
I post and reply and thank posters for sharing their content. I do not contribute though because pretty much all of the porn I get.... I get from here. The stuff I see elsewhere is typically stuff I've already seen here so there's no point in posting what's already been posting. We have some OUTSTANDING posters here who are on top of things, Shape, Azriel, Wobleybob, Gumsel, Elgrego, SimonKemp... just to name a few. I don't know how they do it, but I'm sure glad they do!
This is a long one, I apologize!
I am very close to on the fence with this one and it was tough to decide what I think. I know how much fun it is to have a sense of community, and sometimes the lurkers make us feel like they don't deserve to be here or we feel threatened that they might re-post content elsewhere. I chose my opinion on the matter based on my own experience:
Being a contributor of not just comments, but of self-made content as well, you might think I would be all for deleting users who lurk for 1 year+. However, if you checked out my history, you would see I lurked for about 2 years before posting anything. Look at me now! I may not be the top poster, but I definitely contribute. It took me some time to work up the courage to post, and took even longer to work up the courage of my wife to allow photos of her on the internet. Sometimes lurkers are just contributors waiting to bloom!
I have a general belief that people should be allowed to lurk. Maybe they aren't comfortable being social, and that's why they are on the internet in the first place? If they start to get rejected from the internet, they might start to feel pretty low about themselves. Or maybe their friends, family, or co-workers are highly against porn or facials (which I think is ridiculous and another topic altogether) and they want to remain as invisible as possible. Some people believe that by posting comments, even with a fake name, that somehow people will find out what they do!
I don't think the lurkers hurt anyone. I know that some people blame the lurkers for re-posts. But if we start requiring people to participate, the re-posters will participate enough to get the content they seek anyways. The people doing bad things will always find a way to do bad things. The people being being quiet are just quiet.
If you have any novel ideas on this subject that the staff have not already considered so far to try and alleviate this problem then we are all ears.
The sad fact is that will will never be able to stop some members flaunting certain rules in here, it is all down to how an individual views this place.
The vast majority of our members in here understand just exactly what we are trying to achieve when we set this place up over 5 years ago and will respect and uphold the basic principals that the forum stands for and also respect their fellow members wishes on reposting personal pix.
Sadly there are others who do not value this place as a community but just view it as a convenient outlet to smash n grab material and then use it as they wish.
Thankfully the good outweighs the bad many times over but a distinction has to be made here, not all lurkers will repost members material elsewhere but one thing is certain any that have been caught doing so will be banned.

Fantastic question.
My opinion, which I do not expect to carry any weight here, as a lurker, is that this forum is a well run community.
I stumbled upon the site when searching out community implementation. Regardless of the subject matter, an online forum is successful when properly moderated, open to newcomers, and may or may not offer premium services.
Some forums work well with invite only memberships, so there is nothing 'wrong' with such a setup. But the hybrid free/premium sites, with a respectful community that enforces rules, allows for better growth options.
This community offers plenty for 'freeloaders', but there are obviously benefits for Platinum membership. Without the free part, there would not be as much as an incentive to even learn about Platinum.
That GloryHole interview thread was a fantastic way to get more paid members.
On the web, nothing can be protected fully. It is all subject to finding it's way into the public. However, in a community that creates respect for other's contributions, there tends to be much less 'stealing' and re-posting.
no i dont thing so i'm a lurker but just dont like posting
