No need to repeat, that he was a "controversial" Porn Producer. So were my feelings about him. Controversial.

I became aware of him over several exellent facial pics in the late 90s. I was fascinated over that grade of perfection. But when i watched the first movie porns, i was deeply shocked. How was that possible, that he treats girls like that and gets away with it? (in fact he did not and had to spend 4 years in prison)

But then i got used to it. Especially the fact that many girls did several movies with him could convince me, that his movies are just show. Even Queeny Love, who recieved VERY special "treatment" from him once said, that he is her favorite porn producer. And then there is Catalina, Sage, China Love and all the others. Even though, the puking and slapping never caught on me.

After his prison time, he declined rapidly. The rubber dick porns are just weird and not watchworthy. But his heritage is way big enough.

Well, i have very mixed feelings about him. Fact is, that he is responsible for a big, maybe the biggest part of my happy hours. Some of his movies are my all-time favorites since 20 years.
on the other hand - nothing on earth could bring me to treat a women like he did.

I see him today as the gatekeeper of my darkest fantasies. Thats his role for me. Maybe i donīt like him as person but i do respect what he did.

Rest in peace, dirty old bastard.
This evening I happened to hear He's a Rebel by the Crystals. This was followed by Da Doo Ron Ron, also by the Crystals. Then came And Then He Kissed Me, again by The Crystals. All these songs were written by Phil Spector, who is currently in prison and hopefully will stay there.

Whether you like the songs or not, I don't care, but to me they are absolute classic, bona fide pop songs and a worthy addition to our pop history. Should I stop listening to these songs because of the awful things Spector did? Should they be erased from history because the writer and producer was an abusive egomaniac?

Should we separate the art from the artist so we can enjoy the simple pleasure of it, or does this enable the artist to continue their unacceptable behaviour?
